Dominate Every Barbeque and Picnic this Summer with this Asian Noodle Salad Recipe
I would love to take credit for this recipe, but I can’t. I got it from my friend Paula. It is the easiest thing in the world to make, and generates nothing but praise and glory.
At our DIY Wedding in California, we had a barbecue for out-of-towners the day before the ceremony. I had an idea to make a giant vat of this stuff.
My step mom whipped it up, and me being in full whack-o mode kept worrying that we wouldn't have enough “More! More!” I insisted. Of course we had way too much. But also of course, everybody loved it.
It’s almost a no-recipe recipe. Here it is:
Ingredients:
16 Ounces / 500g of thin pasta noodles like (ex. Spaghettini, Capellini or Angel Hair)
3/4 Cup / 175 ml sesame oil
3/4 Cup / 175 ml soy sauce
6 T / EL balsamic vinegar
6 T / EL sugar
3 T / EL Tablespoons hot chili oil (optional - can be purchased at an Asian markets)
1/4 Cup / 4-6 EL roasted sesame seeds (or to taste)
1 Bunch scallions, chopped (Frühlingszwiebeln for my Deutsch peeps)
Instructions:
Cook the noodles according to instructions. Mix all liquid ingredients plus sugar. Add sauce to noodles, and store in fridge at least 4 hours, ideally over night Before serving, sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped scallions.
This recipe will make everyone love you. Seriously.
Enjoy and Guten Apetit!
