Case Study - Made It Workshops

The Objective

Miles and Joe needed to rebrand their craft workshop business ‘Mancrafters’ to be more inclusive, they had a new name Made It Workshops and a new logo. They needed a new website to match. They had two clear objectives:

  • 3 workshops a month plus one corporate event

  • Create a site they could easily maintain

Requirements & Tools

  • Squarespace 7.1

  • On site scheduling (Squarespace Scheduler)

  • Email newsletter sign-up (MailChimp)

  • Instagram Feed

What We Did

The existing website was on Wordpress, which was difficult to maintain and update, so we agreed to move the site onto Squarespace.

We used Squarespace Scheduler (also know as Acuity) to create workshop events that website visitors could easily book and pay.

We created an overview page of all workshops which visitors could access immediately via a call to action button above the fold. We used the new portfolio feature on Squarespace 7.1 to showcase each individual craft on offer. Visitors could also book workshops for a particular craft via these showcase pages.

Team and corporate event offerings were front and center on the home page and in the main navigation, as is an email sign-up.

We emphasized the experience aspect (rather than the finished product) with professionally written copy and imagery.

Aside from a small icon in the footer we placed their instagram feed and a link to their newsletter sign up on pages where no workshop was available. The goal is to get people to sign up for workshops not just become Instagram followers.

We started this project in early spring before the Covid-19 lockdown, which delayed things significantly. We persevered, however, and got it over the line several months later in September, phew!
