The Honest Truth: Your Website Can’t Get You More Leads

Quick public service announcement: YOUR WEBSITE CAN NOT 'GET' YOU LEADS. MARKETING GETS YOU LEADS.

Your website is definitely a part of that process, but it is not the thing that drives leads. If it’s doing it’s job your site CONVERTS visitors into leads.

I like to use the analogy of a brick and mortar store.

When you launch your website you are setting up your storefront. Maybe in the middle of nowhere, maybe outside of a small town, or maybe in the middle of a bustling city.

You have to get people into your store.

To do that, people have to know your store exists.

Once someone enters your store your wares must be displayed in an appealing way that makes people want to make a purchase (or book a call, submit an email, etc.). Finally, making a purchase has to be straightforward and easy.

Figuring out all of these parts and how they work together is your digital strategy.

Setting up your storefront (website), getting people to it (marketing) and getting people to purchase/book/get in touch (conversion messaging and site design) are deeply intertwined but are distinctly different things
