Your Website is Never Finished. And That’s Fine.
Having a good website is important, right?
When we master it, good things happen: We feel more confident about our businesses. We proudly advertise and direct traffic to it We don’t let opportunities pass us by
So what’s stopping us from buckling down and getting it done?
Maybe it’s because the whole process feels overwhelming and it’s hard to know where to start. For me, I know I used to really get hung up on getting the messaging just right.
It wasn’t until I learned/realized that your website is a living, breathing, dynamic thing. It’s changing all the time and you can ALWAYS update it.
And now I’m on a mission to help you get a website you love and that you’re proud of so that you can stop hiding your light under a bushel.
But I’ve noticed a stumbling block for some: analysis paralysis. What if my offers change? What if I change my niche or positioning? What if we stop offering x service?
Good news, you can change it, easily!
I make changes on my website almost every day
These are some improvements I made to my website just this week
Rewrote a bunch of blog post titles, H1 & H2 headers, page titles and descriptions based on new SEO Keyword research
Added a stand alone newsletter sign-up page
Tweaked my Website in One Day sales page
Changed the background color on a section of my homepage (then changed it back again a few hours later after deciding it looked better the way it was)
My point? Launch now with a good enough website!
Your website is *always* under construction. It’s a living, breathing dynamic piece of digital property that can and should be tweaked on an ongoing basis.
I regularly hear a lot of people say some variation of the following:
I’m missing out on opportunities because I have no website
I’m embarassed of my website
My website is outdated I don’t do that thing anymore.
I hear this from people just starting out and building a business, from people that have a website that was hastily thrown together to get them going and I hear this from clients that are New York Times best selling authors.
Launching your website will allow you to be ready for opportunity when it knocks (and it will). So don’t get too freaked out about everything being ‘perfect’ before you launch it.
